I built the life that looked right. Then I built the one that felt like mine.
I'm Siobhan J. Middleton, founder of Freedom is the Lifestyle™.
For years, I was very good at doing what I thought I was supposed to do.
I was married for 19 years. I raised two children. I built a business. I showed up, held things together, and created a life that looked good from the outside.
But by the time I turned 40 in 2020, I could no longer ignore one truth: the life I had built no longer felt like mine.
So I started asking myself different questions.
- What do I actually want?
- Who am I becoming?
- How do I want my life to feel?
Those questions changed everything.
I ended my marriage. I got my first apartment on my own. I started dating again. I began making decisions based on what felt true for me instead of what I thought I was supposed to do.
Now, with my children grown and in college, I call myself an open nester because this season doesn't feel empty. It feels wide open.
An opening to discover more of myself, create differently, love differently, and build a life that reflects the woman I am now.
And somewhere in the middle of my own starting-over story, my work became clearer too.
Freedom is the Lifestyle™ grew out of what I was living and learning in real time.
Today, I help women over 40 release the good girl conditioning that taught them to be agreeable, self-sacrificing, and endlessly accommodating. I help them reconnect with their voice, define freedom on their own terms, and create lives that feel true, beautiful, and fully their own.
I know what it feels like to wake up inside a life you helped build and realize you've outgrown it.
I also know what can happen when you finally choose yourself.
My life today isn't perfect.
But it is mine.
